These are great shots, Nathan. I assume you made the food aswell - all looks fabulous. The only thing that I think detracts a little - the last picture, you can't actually see the edge of the plate, so if you didn't know it was a food shot, this might be a little visually confusing. Like I say though - great shots. I particularly like the fourth one from the top - great shapes and colours. Sarah
These shots show an understanding of the way in which most food is photographed, up-close, eater's viewpoint, shallow depth of field and rear to side lighting. It's clear you've been looking at food mags and books for ideas and applied that here. There is a touch of Marie Clare perhaps. Style and composition is often a matter of taste, and my taste is for a less clean and clinical approach to lighting and a less formal composition - but of course in a real job there is a client as well as other creative professionals that want and get a say. So to wrap up, they are competent, contemporary, clean - if a little too so and very formally composed, or.... they work and I like them.
